Although you Madden 22 coins be laughing at the idea of one of the defensive players getting onto the Madden NFL Cover, it's not uncommon. Richard Sherman was the last defensive player to be the cover athlete for the team in Madden NFL 15 and prior to that we saw the likes of Troy Polamalu (shared with Larry Fitzgerald, Madden NFL 10) and Ray Lewis (Madden NFL 2005) join the cover as well. If you're searching on that particular side of the ball as a cover athlete there's no one more dominant than Donald who has been part of the 99 Club for four straight seasons. In this regard the only way to make a mark in the sport is getting onto the right side of the ball.
After the teaser was released earlier in the week, everyone assumed that this was the reason behind the teaser. It's no secret that Tom Brady is considered the greatest quarterback ever (G.O.A.T) and Patrick Mahomes is widely considered to be the next great quarterback. So, it's only natural to not only think there's a possibility -- or even a likelihood that there are two sportsmen on the cover, but when EA Sports trots out an older goat as well as a baby goat in the teaser, it's impossible not to be thinking of Brady and Mahomes. Both quarterbacks have been featured on the Madden NFL Cover before, with Brady playing for Madden NFL 18, and Mahomes making a comeback in Madden NFL 20.
This combo would be repetitive yet it's a good idea. It's like they were appearing on the cover just a few minutes ago. It's appropriate considering they went toe to toe in the Super Bowl last year.
EA Job Listing: Madden Could Be Coming To A Change
Madden NFL used to be a regular appearance on Nintendo platforms However, we've not seen it in over 10 years since Madden NFL 13 on Wii U. EA is still offering annual updates for FIFA (even the ones that are "legacy versions"), EA previously claimed they weren't planning to release the game on the Switch at the time of 2018. However, a new job announcement suggested Madden may finally be on the way.
The information comes from YouTuber Doctre81, who found a listing titled "Online Software Engineer - (C++)" Madden" with a date range of to November 2020. Under the job requirements one section requests 2 years of working experience with "Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo gaming consoles". That might not sound too impressive however, prior EA jobs listings didn't include Nintendo in their job requirements.
EA may be looking into a possible release. Keep in mind that in June 2020, EA confirmed it would launch seven Switch games within the 12-month time frame. We've got six confirmed games from June 2020. This includes Apex Legends which was announced in the last week of this week.
Another one is still to come however, Madden's annual release calendar means that EA could be waiting until Madden NFL 22. This would rather than an Madden NFL 21 port, since they usually launch in August. Whatever the case, let's be hopeful that it's not another legacy edition, shall we?
Madden NFL 21 Predicts Super Bowl LV
This weekend will be the host for Super Bowl 55, the final event of one of the most turbulent seasons the history of the NFL ever. The teams participating this year have already been determined. In a game featuring the top NFL quarterbacks Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will face against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Electronic Arts will celebrate the Super Bowl by running a Madden NFL simulation, as is now the norm. The current Madden NFL 21 simulation appears to be a good predictor of a winning game.
This year's Madden NFL 21 Super Bowl simulation was a success with the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Tom Brady win by a score 37-27. Unfortunately, EA didn't provide much in terms of a stats breakdown or play-by-play for this year's game. The simulation did mention that the Buccaneers have a lead at the start of the game at 13-7, however the Kansas City Chiefs lead by 14-13 by halftime. Both teams' offenses take off in the second quarter.
In the final six minutes of the fourth quarter Madden NFL 21 sees the game in a tie at 27. It's in this moment that the Super Bowl summary from EA doesn't quite provide a complete report of what happens. There's a red zone touchdown from Mahomes that delivers a touchdown for the Chiefs at least. Fans will have to guess which direction the Chiefs have their field goal and what the defensive stop are that keep the Buccanneers scoring again. Suffice to say, those last six minutes very much go in the Chiefs for the Chiefs' benefit.
EA has not released an unfinished video of Madden NFL 21 Super Bowl 55 simulation. This is a first. Instead, it released a video filled with footage of the game and commentary by actor King Keraun portraying his Madden spokesman influencer The Spokesplayer. EA isn't sure if they are able to simulate a single game, or whether they simulate multiple games, and then pick the most successful. It's also not clear how EA performs their game simulation. This is the official Super Bowl 55 prediction for Madden NFL 21.
Historically, Madden NFL's Super Bowl predictions have a decent record, but they are not reliable. Madden NFL's most recent predictions are less successful than the previous seasons. Four of the series' predictions in the last six have proven wrong, but it did manage to get the win of last year for the Kansas City Chiefs correct.
If Madden NFL's official picture for this year's edition continues to deliver both the Chiefs and Madden the win remains to be determined. Super Bowl 55 will start on Sunday, February 7, at 6:30 EST. You can watch me via CBS or the CBS All Access app with an active subscription.
